Fantasy Football for Gods and Noobs

Its almost time for your fantasy football draft and I have a few pointers and eye-openers for you. I am not here to tell you about who I think is a sleeper or why you should take Arian Foster or LeSean McCoy or Ray Rice with the number one pick. People are paid to do that. I want to talk about what you should do with your league. Follow me to the land of Fantasy Football after the bump.

Bring Out Your Dead...AND PARTY!

Just when you though this freaking country couldn't get any more bizarre, I came across this little snip-it of joy. In Michigan, a woman was found watching NASCAR with her deceased husband propped up in his chair. Here's the best part, her husband had been dead for 18 months! YES! Over a year with this stiff, just chillin' out on his favorite chair. Couldn't she have been a bit more creative with her postmortem play mate?

Do We Need Another Judge Dredd?

Hollywood is out of ideas. It is not a secret. Instead of making new movies or waiting for Christopher Nolan or Quentin Tarantino to change the landscape again, producers reach into their vault of ideas and make new versions of old movies. The dust just settled on Spider Man 3 (piece of emo shit that it was) before they rebooted the franchise with another origin story starring the guy fucked out of billions in The Social Network. Producers are missing the point. The best remakes are remakes of BAD movies. And Hollywood has picked a gem to redo. Do we really need a re-imagined Judge Dredd movie? The answer is "fuck yeah." And I will tell you why after the bump.

Alex Smith: Game Manager

I have been watching ESPN's own Ron Jaworski go through a list of his Top 30 QBs in the NFL. And #16 on the list really stands out to me. The proud owner of the exact middle of the QB order is Alex Smith. The guy taken #1 overall as Aaron Rodgers sat in the green room being tortured on National Television. Alex Smith typifies what is known in football as a "great game manager." Find out what that really means after the bump.

Real Steel Good

I am the guy who has watched every movie. I have watched and remembered more movies and facts about movies than you have ever fathomed. I am the IMDB Intersect. And I especially love watching bad movies. Movies made with the best of intentions that come out terrible for one reason or another. Movies that were intentionally bad and the people making it caught on and it shows in the production. Bad movies are great. But occasionally a movie that you think will be just terrible turns out to be a great film. You did not expect a great movie out of a bad premise but it happens anyway. A film that surprises you like that is rare. Those movies are Real Steel Good.

MMA Retirement ≤ WWE Retirement?

I'm a longtime fan of Pro-wrestling. I've watched since I was a child. A good part of my 20's were spent trying to realize my dream of main eventing Wrestlemania, possibly in a career Vs career match. See, I didn't worry about being chosen to loose my career in a pro-wrestling match because all that meant was taking some time off only to return after a few months or maybe a year. Now it appears MMA life imitating WWEs "art" as rumors persist that BJ Penn and Brock Lesnar will be following Jamie Varner our of retirement before the end of the year.

It's June, Time to Plan Your Draft

That's right, time to start planning your fantasy football draft. I assume you already have a draft date set, your research has been in full swing for at least a month in a half, and your league has been full for 2 years. If all of this isn't true, you should stop reading right now and go live that wrenched, empty existence you call a life. We will talk draft prep below
