I used to work a night shift job at a desk. I wasted many hours of work online. Since I could not look at porn, the internet wasn't as vast as it was at home. After a while I had played every internet game I wanted to and read every news article I cared about. I eventually found the need to invent time-wasters for myself. So if you are in a similar position, I would suggest trying my wikipedia-hyperlink game.
To begin: Go to wikipedia.org (this will be the last moment in the game you use the keyboard).
Secondly: Think of something you know about. Anything. Anything that may have a wikipedia page.
Next: Click on the language you speak. English should do if you have read this far.
Furthermore: Click on the hyperlink to the left called “Random Article.”
Now: Using only hyperlinks... navigate your way to the article you thought of in the second step starting with the random article. No typing, that's cheating. Have some god-damn self respect, you are trying to waste time at work here. Use the hyperlinks as steps in the way to your destination article of choice.
Here is an example of a game I just played for shits and giggles:
I was looking for a challenge so I chose to find the wikipedia page for “2 girls 1 cup.” I clicked on the Random Article link on the wikipedia page and it brought me to “Eramam” which is “a village in Kannur district in the Indian state of Kerala.” From here I clicked on the following links in order: census, United States (census), New York City, Comedy Central (I thought I could get to 2 Girls 1 Cup by finding Tosh.0, it was nowhere on the page, but "toplessness" was), Toplessness, Lewdness, Pornography, Sexual fetishism, list of paraphilias, coprophilia, 2 Girls 1 Cup. TADA!
It gives you such satisfaction to find the article you were looking for. Way more satisfaction than you will get at work during a typical work day. So give it a shot, working stiff. Yet another way to waste time from bastardgentlemen.com.
Okay, so since I came up with this idea in 2007, or maybe sometime before I came up with this idea, others were out there doing the same thing. They also created websites and apps revolving around this game. These folks are way more ambitious than I am, which is not difficult. But check them out.
